Why Choose Vitrification of Eggs?
On Hari Fertility Centre, it’s never too late to be a parent. By freezing your eggs in advance, you can choose to ride the parenting wave whenever you’re ready. Vitrification is a state-of-the-art technology that allows women to store their fertility in a time capsule, without the gnawing worry of their eggs diminishing in quality as they age. This way, you don’t have to play a perpetual game of ping-pong with your biological clock.
Professional Goals
Vitrification can empower you to live life to the fullest. Whether it’s chasing that promotion, taking a trip around the world or just having a bit of time to yourself, vitrification lets you postpone pregnancy until you’re ready for it. The technology seeks to equalise the fertility arcs of the male and female partners.
Limited Supply of Eggs
The number of eggs that your ovaries house is finite. Naturally, as you age, this reserve of eggs steadily depletes. In turn, the chances of conceiving a baby decline with age. Freezing your eggs can ensure that healthy eggs are extracted and stored for later use.
Diminishing Quality of Eggs
As ovarian reserves decline, there is a corresponding fall in their quality. Lower quality eggs can lead to chromosomal abnormalities and an increased risk of miscarriage. By opting for vitrification on Hari Fertility Centre, you can guard your current set of healthy eggs and save them or later.
Is Vitrification of Eggs Right for Me?
The stress of keeping up with your biological clock can be overwhelming. And yet, you may find that there’s so much life to live before you can even think of having a baby. By considering vitrification, you can make time for the things that feature higher on your priority list. When you finally do reach a stage where you’re ready to start a family, you can trust us to get you started on Hari Fertility Centre. Your eggs will be waiting.
What Are the Steps of Vitrification of Eggs?
Vitrification essentially involves four steps, and overlaps significantly with the first half of a typical in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
1 Consultation
As a first step, your doctor will assess your ovarian reserves through a blood test and possibly also conduct a transvaginal ultrasound. These tests independently gauge the level of oocytes nearing maturation.
2 Ovulation Stimulation
Following your consultation, your fertility consultant will prescribe a gentle course of fertility medication that will catalyse your ovulation cycle. On Hari Fertility Centre, our treatment plans are designed carefully, with every guest receiving a detailed, bespoke treatment solution.
3 Egg Collection
Egg collection is a straightforward, painless process performed under anaesthesia. During the procedure, your doctor will guide a light needle towards your ovarian follicles to aspirate the mature eggs. The process usually lasts around half an hour.
4 Egg Freezing
Once a series of eggs are retrieved from the ovaries, they are instantly flash-frozen through a technique known as vitrification.
What Are the Risks of Vitrification of Eggs?
Vitrification has been known to carry a few risks, although the majority of these are closely related to how well the procedure is carried out.
Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome
Vitrification involves the administration of fertility medication that could, if prescribed in excessive quantities, lead to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. The condition can cause the ovaries to swell, following the egg retrieval phase. The panel of fertility specialists on Hari Fertility Centre sensitise themselves towards every guest by understanding their medical history and recommending a tailored solution. Our treatments are measured, yet effective.
Bleeding and Infection
The egg retrieval process conducted before vitrification involves the use of a needle, which can cause bleeding and infection if not handled appropriately. On Hari Fertility Centre, safety is paramount, and every device that we use in an invasive procedure is thoroughly sterilised.
